AFS Logistics Inc. provides members with discounted freight rates and specialized freight bill accounting services to reduce freight expenditures.

Primary Objectives

• Provide members with lower cost shipping solutions with Less than Truckload “LTL” carriers.
• Provide members with alternate solutions for their transportation functions which will streamline and enhance existing operations while reducing expenditures.

Understanding that a majority of your freight comes in from your vendors on specialized furniture carriers where you are receiving fairly competitive pricing, AFS has concentrated on providing a program for freight which is shipped on “LTL“ carriers, where the pricing per hundred pounds is considerably higher.

By providing a select group of core carriers, AFS has placed preferential Member discounts in place.

If you receive freight on carriers like; ABF, American Freightways, Consolidated Freightways, Yellow Freight, Viking Freight, USF, Con-Way, Averitt Express, Old Dominion, Central Freight Lines and many others, you may be surprised to find the NHFA Core Carriers having greater discounts. Some of the core carriers may even be carriers that you utilize today. If so, it is simply a matter of comparing discounts.

The program is for freight that you receive Inbound and ship Outbound where you are responsible for the freight charges.

NHFA Core Carriers
Multiple Less than Truckload “LTL” carriers have been selected as NHFA Core Carriers. By combining the Membership’s transportation volume with that of AFS’s Clients, AFS has arranged preferential pricing with these carriers for the membership. There is no cost to participate.

Additional Logistics Services
Aside from offering discounted freight rates, AFS provides additional logistics services.

Pre and Post Audit
AFS offers two different freight bill audit options.

1. Pre-Audit and Payment :  Why receive, verify and pay freight bills internally when you can outsource this function for a fraction of the cost? AFS can receive all of your freight bills directly from your carriers or from the member, audit, assign GL Codes and provide you with all of your shipping data on a weekly basis in a consolidated format. Once approved, you can forward one payment for all freight invoices weekly. Upon receipt, AFS will fund your carriers. For more information on this please refer to AFS.
   
2. Post-Audit :  This audit is for bills which have been previously paid. You have nothing to loose and the Audit if free. AFS will audit to ensure that proper classifications, discounts and rates have been applied. The audit will also identify any duplicate or erroneous payments to carriers. AFS simply shares in an equal percentage, with the Member, of the actual amount recovered from the audit. Please contact Scott Matthews at AFS for more information on Post-Audit.
